The product is made from the edible seaweed Kombu (Laminaria ochroleuca<\/em>). Seaweed of European origin, dehydrated and chopped. Raw seaweed is dehydrated at low temperatures.<\/p>\n

Purpose<\/strong>
\nKombu is traditionally used to flavour water used in stews, soups, rice, casseroles and sauces. It has thickening properties, which are very useful for making sauces.<\/p>\n

Properties<\/strong>
\n– Source of iodine
\n– Sugar-free
\n– Low in fat
\n– Source of magnesium and potassium
\n– Smell and taste: sea water and slightly smoky smell, iodised taste.
\n– Appearance: yellowish brown seaweed. The white colour that can appear on algae comes from salts, which act as a natural preservative.
\n– Texture: fleshy, crisp.<\/p>\n

Approximately 50 mg of dried kombu contains 150 \u03bcg of iodine.
\nIt is recommended to monitor the iodine content of the final product.<\/p>\n

Suitable for the general public, except infants and young children (1-3 years). Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.<\/p>\n

Recipe<\/strong> – Braised lentils with kombu
\nIngredients:
\n– 250 g lentils
\n– 1 clove garlic
\n– 2 small carrots
\n– 120 g onion
\n– 10 g dehydrated Kombu
\n– 2 ripe tomatoes
\n– 100 g tomato puree
\n– 75 g olive oil
\n 1 bay leaf
\n– 1 tsp sweet paprika
\n– 1 l vegetable stock
\n– Additional water as needed (1 part lentils need 2\u00bd parts water total)<\/p>\n

Preparation
\n-rinse the lentils;
\n-peel and wash the carrots, tomatoes, onions, garlic, finely chop;
\n-fry the garlic in hot oil, add chopped onion, diced carrot, dehydrated Kombu, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree and paprika, stir-fry;
\n-pour the lentils and vegetable broth and cook for about 30-40 minutes.
\n-Serve in a deep dish or bowl.<\/p>\n
