Chicory coffee, a decaffeinated beverage made from roasted chicory roots, offers a great alternative to traditional coffee. Famous for its rich, earthy flavour, chicory coffee is often used as a decaffeinated coffee substitute.
Its mild bitterness and aromatic qualities make it a versatile ingredient for both hot and cold drinks, and it can be mixed with traditional coffee or served alone. Chicory can also be used to flavour desserts. It has a natural bitterness.
Directions:
Pour boiling water over one full teaspoon of coffee. Leave to steep for 5-10 minutes. To taste you can add a vegetable drink, your favourite sweetener. For a stronger brew, it is recommended to boil the coffee for about 2-3 minutes.
